Dead Famous PR
Brand identity, website design & content creation.
Dead Famous are an independent PR agency and live music promoter focused on alternative and atmospheric metal music. The brief was to build a complete brand identity that would feel distinctive and yet authentic to the scene and the artists Dead Famous serves. This included:
• Logo and visual identity development
• Brand positioning and brand voice development
• Website design and copywriting
• Photography and additional imagery sourcing
The identity needed to communicate professionalism within the industry, while remaining true to the atmosphere, culture and values of the alternative music scene.
We knew authenticity would be fundamental. Alternative music audiences recognise when a brand feels inauthentic - and artists are unlikely to engage - or trust - organisations that feel removed from the scene. We worked to strike that balance: communicating credibility and professionalism, while embracing the darker, atmospheric qualities associated with the genres that Dead Famous focused on.
The visual identity began with the logo, built around the combination of two contrasting yet instantly recognisable symbols: the outline of a coffin and the iconic Walk of Fame star. Together, they create an immediate visual connection to the Dead Famous name, while reflecting the darker atmosphere of the music scene with the themes of recognition and legacy. The wider visual identity was then built on these same principles, using restrained typography, carefully selected imagery to ensure a consistent visual language across all platforms to create a brand that felt cohesive across every touchpoint.
The result was a distinctive and cohesive brand identity that provided Dead Famous with a strong foundation across digital and print. From its website and social channels to promotional materials and merchandise, every element was designed to create a consistent experience while maintaining credibility within the alternative music community.
